Simian Sounds
Simian Sounds are Morphosis (aka Jack Nash, Action Jackson, Hobbit) and Monkey T (aka Tom Smith, 2 Bags Tom, Smitty), they met while glass collecting in the venue that is now home to their regular night. It quickly bacame apparent that they shared a love for quality music and partying in to the small hours. At the time their home town of Falmouth in Cornwall was seriously lacking in this department so they thought it was high time something was done about the situation. The rest, as they say, is history!
Morphosis
Morphosis is one half of Simian Sounds, who got hold of his first pair of miss-matched belt driven turntables age 17 and never looked back, and 15yrs down the line he's still spinning. He's covered a whole host of different styles in those years from trance to techno, bigbeat to nu- skool which is where he's at now spinning it along side glitchy wonk n wabbly electro techyness and a new found fondness for dubstep.
He's lived in the deep South West for the past 10yrs, moving down there to study Fine Art at Uni, during this time he became involved in the free party thing and not long after started up a regular student night, 'Metamorphosis', at the infamous Pirate Inn, Falmouth (sadly no more, RIP), where he was promoter and resident.
He is now resident and promoter of 'Simian Sounds' on the1st friday of every month @ The Waterman's, Falmouth. The night has been running for 4 years now and been at it's current home for just over 3. It's been going from strength to strength, attracting breaks dj's from all over the country and beyond and has recently been nominated for 'Best Small Event/Club' @ Breakspoll 2009. He has also started to gain recognition for himself on the national circuit finding himself supporting some of the scenes giants around the UK.
Along side this he does 'Beating The Crates' with his compadre Fat Harry every Monday and 'Simian Sounds Radio Sessions' every Friday, 1pm til 3pm GMT live on the award winning NSB Radio, the biggest live breakbeat radio station in the world.
Monkey T
Ah the enigma of the Monkey T, they seek him here, they seek him there but all they can find is his underwear. Very little is known about the origin of the the Greater 2 Bagged Monkey T, but legend has it he was spotted frequenting 2 step raves in deepest darkest Kent before turning up in Cornwall and terrorizing the local wildlife.
